Accept/Reject Report to be Replaced

Highmark Medicare Services will be eliminating the Accept/RTP (electronic and hardcopy versions) and the Return to Provider Reports (hardcopy version) effective August 2, 2008. Beginning August 4, 2008 you will be able to view returned claims on-line within the FISS. This change impacts PA providers only.

The FISS 050 Report is replacing the RTP Report. This report is an accumulative report of RTP claims. The 050 Report is updated daily and is sorted by HIC and then by service date. An advantage of the 050 Report is that the Reason Code description is displayed with each claim allowing for our providers to be more efficient in correcting their claims. Note that the on-line claims correction process has not changed.

The 050 Report is for on-line viewing only. Paper versions of the report will be made available weekly to providers without DDE access. If you require a paper version contact Charlene Cave at 412-544-1954 or you may put your request in writing to Highmark Medicare Services, Suite P5107 (RTP), 120 Fifth Ave., Pittsburgh, PA 15221. Please make your request by July 15, 2008 to avoid interruption of receiving the RTP information.

Following are the instructions to view the 050 Report on-line within FISS:

  1. From the FISS Main Menu, choose Option 04 for On-line Reports
  2. At the On-line Reports Menu, choose Option R2 for View a Report
  3. Key 050 in the Report field
  4. In the Frequency field key the letter D and depress enter
  5. Claims in the RTP file will be displayed

For accepted claims, even though the Accept/Reject Report is being eliminated, providers can choose to receive the CMS 276/277 Report. This report is optional and will allow providers to request and receive the status of claims. The 276/277 Report is supported by your vendor. For more information regarding this option visit theĀ CMS site.

If you are interested in setting up the 276/277optional report, contact EDI Services at 1-866-488-0546, Option 2.
